Paper and Plastic Bag Ban and the Impact on Entrepreneurs

The San Jose City Council are in agreement- they are going to begin banning the use of paper and plastic bags in their municipality.  Not only is this California bay area city banning the bags they are hoping to carry over the ban to surrounding municipalities.  San Jose is not the first city in California to take steps to help the environment with a ban like this.  Palo Alto’s bag ban went into effect at the end of September and plastic bags have been banned in San Francisco since 2007.  The ban in San Jose will not be fully in effect until 2011.  The mayor is expected to bring green entrepreneurs in to help with implementing the transition.
